Weekly news rainbow bagels

BEHOLD THE RAINBOW BAGEL……. the rainbow bagel is the brainchild of the bagel store in Brooklyn, Owner of the bagel store Scot Rossilio has been making theses colorful bagels now for 20 years. Scot says he loves his job and it’s a passion of labour and art and it takes hard work to make the most beautiful bagel in the world. The dough is given a splash of neon color, then it's shaped into mounds, The mounds are flattened and layered, the dough is sliced… and EXPERTLY rolled. Then they add funfetti cream cheese made with real cake mix and then of course (obviously they add sprinkles) So that's it the rainbow bagels are done. hope you enjoyed my weekly news.

My weekly news ocean rubbish bin invented!

My story is from Kiwi Kids news

Have you ever thought about or hated that people don't care about the sea and just  chuck their rubbish in the ocean well two surfers did and they did something about it. They made it because It was annoying for them while they surf but it also helps the marine life too! Because most of the marine animals are at risk because of littering in the sea. What the Bin does is that it has this sucking mahine inside it so it pull all the rubbish in the water in. The surfers also hope the bin can protect the sea because studies show that an average of 8 million tonnes of rubbish is thrown into the sea every year! I think this invention is amazing because It helps the environment and it helps marine life.

I wonder… will this machine help get rid of the 8 million tonnes or not? hmmmmmm.

Three Main words from this article is.......

Marine,littering and environment

My multiple intelligences

        Screenshot 2016-02-16 at 10.18.09 AM.png

This is my multiple intelligences results. I did a test about things I like and don’t like to do.

When I got my results I never knew how bad I was at music and my picture smarts. But what I did find out was that my Nature smarts was pretty high! But my best as you can see is that my people smarts is my best skill.

When I thought about about the test is true because I do NOT like working by myself but I like working with others. Because now I know what i'm good at and not so good at I can practise what I need to work on.

Welcome back 2016

This year I am going to try and do office duty and maybe rugby just for a little change, to shake things up.

At first when I was a Marama student I felt weird, scared but excited at the same time? I felt these feeling because last year I was a year six in a different class room and now I’m a year seven in a whole new classroom with new teachers and new students. It just feels weird but cool at the same time.

A goal for me this year would be to get better at my math and make even more friends because last year I was not the best at math and I want to make more friends because lots of my friends were year five’s and now i’m in a different classroom.

Last year I was really good at my reading and book club but this year I want to read even more because when I read a book it feels like im in a whole new world acting out as the people that I read in my book it just feels amazing! But my favourite books to read are the Paul gennings uncollected series.

I like to play Video games like MInecraft, Spongebob’s big adventure, Lego indiana jones and so on and on. My favourite game would be minecraft because you can make anything you want no matter how big or small.

I like to do any art, any kind of art pastel , painting you name it and I can do it. I like doing art because you can just let your mind go wild and venture out and discover new things.

During this year I have improved in my fractions, decimals, tree graphs and drawing 3-D shapes. I have enjoyed working and collaborating with my group mates because we can help each other and give each other advice, and I like having just girls in the Fozzies group plus this year I have achieved my goal that I set last year about learning my fractions.  and every thing about them.

Impact is when there are many groups and you work in one group the whole year, I'm in the Outside Gallery group and in our group we work on one art project the whole year. This year we are are making four murals representing our syndicates. In our school we have four syndicates which are Moana, (the sea) Whenua, (the land) Whetu (the stars) and Marama (the moon). The mural I'm working on is Whetu. On the mural I'm working on is a big tree, the seven sisters, the moon, the words Whetu and the stars.

Labour Day Holiday

Samuel Parnell

Labour Day
Labour day is a special when every one who works gets a day off. Including schools, office's, café's etc. The word Labour day honers the struggle of an eight hour working day. New Zealand workers were the first in the world to claim the right when, in 1840 when Samuel Parnell won an eight hour day in Wellington. Labour day was first celebrated in New Zealand on 28 October 1890.

iDrive

Today at iDrive I used fun at carpentry. In carpentry I made a Jewellery rack and an iPhone six. To make the jewellery rack I got a piece of wood and sawed it to size. Next I hammered some nails into it for the hooks. Then I painted it with some bright colours.

After I made my Jewellery rack I had ten to fifteen minutes left so I made myself an iPhone! To make the I phone I sawed it to size, sanded it then put vivid on it.

Princess Diana

Princess Diana was born on July 1, 1961. She was the daughter of Edward John Spencer. Her parents divorced when Diana was young, and her father won custody of her and her siblings. She was educated at Riddlesworth Hall and then went to boarding school at West Heath School.

Although she was known for her shyness growing up, she did show an interest in music and dancing. Diana also had a great passion for children. After attending finishing school in Switzerland, she moved to London. She began working with children, eventually becoming a kindergarten teacher at the Young England School.
In 1980 she started dating Prince Charles. The press and the public were fascinated by this seemingly odd couple. The garden-loving prince and the shy princess with an interest in fashion and culture. When the couple married on July 29, 1981, the ceremony was broadcast on television around the world.
On June 21, 1982, Diana and Charles had their first child, Prince William then later on He was joined by a brother, Prince Henry later on she began to develop and follow her own interests. Diana served a strong supporter of many charities and worked to help the homeless, people living with HIV and AIDS and children in need. People then started calling her the people’s princess because she always helped the people in need.
Unfortunately, the fairy tale wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles did not lead to a happily-ever-after marriage. Later on the couple started getting problems so they decided to get a divorce. The couple's separation was announced in December 1992 by British Prime Minister who read a statement from the royal family to the House of Commons. The divorce was finalized in 1996.
Even after the divorce, Diana maintained a high level of popularity. She devoted herself to her sons and to such good efforts as the battle against the use of landmines. Diana used her international celebrity to help raise awareness about this issue.
After the divorce Diana went on a dating frenzy. When she was with a Egyptian film producer in Paris, the couple was involved in a car crash after trying to escape from the paparazzi on the night of August 30, 1997. She survived the crash but died later on in the hospital.

iDrive

This week for iDrive I did roll play with my friends and together we came up with an idea to do a play of The Wizard of Oz. Paige was Dorothy, Ashling was was the Tin man and a munch kin ,Charlotte was the scarecrow, Anna-Louise was a munch kin and the lion, Scarlet was Glinda the good witch and the Wizard of Oz and I was the wicked witch of the west. (a.k.a Alfaba)

I used collaboration because I was with my friends, I used enthusiasm because we came up with some awesome ideas and I used confidence because it is very hard to do a loud cackle in front of everyone. (It is very embarrassing)
